The canyon was closed to the public in 1969 due to its unsafe and poor condition. In this episode, Huell Howser gets the opportunity to view the restoration project before the grand re-opening of the canyon to the public.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><em>Note: This episode was released across Public Broadcasting Service&#8217;s (PBS) affiliated stations in California, but not necessarily on the same day for each station. The date shown represents an earliest, approximate airdate for this episode.
