Moving to the cloud will offer users new and improved emailing features.<\/p>\n<p>Although the migration to the cloud is a big move, the user experience will remain the same. To have Office 365 installed on your computer, please email the service desk at <a href=\"mailto:servicedesk@chapman.edu\">servicedesk@chapman.edu<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>What do I need to do to prepare?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>While the migration will not have any impact on your desk computer, you may need to update your email settings on your mobile devices. IS&amp;T recommends the following mobile email clients for the highest security:<\/p>\n<table width=\"510\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"192\"><strong>Device Type<\/strong><\/td>\n<td width=\"318\"><strong>Recommended Applications<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"192\">Microsoft Windows<\/td>\n<td width=\"318\">Microsoft Office 2016 or 2019<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"192\">Apple Mac OS X<\/td>\n<td width=\"318\">Microsoft Office 2016 or 2019<\/p>\n<p>Mac Mail (10.14 Mojave or higher)<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"192\">Apple iOS<\/td>\n<td width=\"318\">Outlook for Mobile (recommended)<\/p>\n<p>Apple Mail (for iOS 11+)<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"192\">Android<\/td>\n<td width=\"318\">Outlook for Mobile (recommended)<\/p>\n<p>Nine (paid)<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>What to expect following the migration?<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You will notice the following changes following the migration:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>\u201cRecent Files\u201d<\/em>\n<ul>\n<li>There is a possibility that the \u201cRecent Files\u201d list in Microsoft Word &amp; Excel may be cleared following the migration.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><em>Desktops &amp; Laptops<\/em>\n<ul>\n<li>You <strong>will<\/strong> be prompted to restart any installations of Microsoft Outlook (Windows or Mac) on Chapman-issued or personal devices\u00a0following the migration.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><em>Mobile Devices<\/em>\n<ul>\n<li>You <strong>may <\/strong>need to delete and re-create your email accounts on mobile devices after the migration (phones, iPad, android tablets).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><em>Skype for Business users<\/em>\n<ul>\n<li>Any existing Skype meetings will also be moved to the cloud, which provides improvements in performance.\u00a0 You may need to log off and onto Skype for Business, or restart your computer, following the migration.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The migration process will taking place early in the morning prior to normal (8am &#8211; 5pm) business hours as to not disrupt university operations.\u00a0 Prior to the migration, IS&amp;T will be sending out two announcements to let users know when to expect their accounts to be migrated. On the morning of the migration, IS&amp;T technicians will be on site to assist with any issues with accessing email.
