The user is prompted to install the fake COVID-19 informator or Inform App which is the Oski information-stealer.<\/div>\n<div>What to do: Make sure you are not using a default or weak Home router admin password.<\/div>\n<div>Read source article\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bleepingcomputer.com\/news\/security\/hackers-hijack-routers-dns-to-spread-malicious-covid-19-apps\/?&amp;web_view=true\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>.<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Phishing emails with Ransomware attachments<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>Phishing emails have been spotted in the wild using ransomware as attachments<\/div>\n<div>Ransomware \u2013 a malicious program that encrypts the contents of a hard drive making it impossible to retrieve office documents or pictures unless a ransom is paid.<\/div>\n<div>What to do: Do not click links or download attachments from senders you do not know.<\/div>\n<div>Read source article\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bleepingcomputer.com\/news\/security\/netwalker-ransomware-infecting-users-via-coronavirus-phishing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>.<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Corona Antivirus<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>With a very enticing name, here comes the fake \u201cCorona Antivirus\u201d.<\/div>\n<div>This fake Anti-Virus promises to keep you safe from the Covid-19 virus using a computer program.<\/div>\n<div>What you get instead : a backdoor that gives the hackers users access to your computer and all your information.<\/div>\n<div>What to do:\u00a0 Keep your existing antivirus up to date. If you do not have an anti-virus, download and install Microsoft Defender \u2013 the Microsoft anti-virus. For\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/windows\/comprehensive-security\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Windows 10<\/a>\u00a0or for\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/download\/details.aspx?id=5201\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Windows 7<\/a>.<br \/>\nRead Source article\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/blog.malwarebytes.com\/threat-analysis\/2020\/03\/fake-corona-antivirus-distributes-blacknet-remote-administration-tool\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>.<strong>Additional tips and tricks to stay safe:<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Wash your hands<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Stay home and practice social distancing<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Change your home router password<\/strong>\u00a0(use a strong password, over 8 characters, numbers, upper lower case letters, special characters)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Do not connect to open wireless networks<\/strong>\u00a0(that do not require a password to connect to)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Go to the source:<\/strong>\u00a0If you need to obtain information or you receive an email that urges you to take action, go to the source. EG: if you receive an email from your bank, check with your bank using the information posted on the banks official website. If you receive an email pretending to come from the cdc , go to the cdc.gov website.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Maintain your Operating System (Windows, Mac) up to date<\/strong>\u00a0by installing the latest updates.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Use a reputable Anti-Virus program<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Microsoft Defender or Security Essentials is a good start.
