According to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/chuckbrooks\/2022\/01\/21\/cybersecurity-in-2022--a-fresh-look-at-some-very-alarming-stats\/?sh=b39cb546b616\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Forbes<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, phishing attacks targeting the Higher Education and Research Sector went up 75% in 2021.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Why? It is easier to learn how to trick someone into giving away their username and password than trying to exploit a vulnerability or \u201chack your way\u201d inside a network. Hackers always look for the path of least resistance. Don\u2019t let that be you!<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Practicing good <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/information-systems\/2021\/10\/06\/do-your-part-becybersmart\/\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">cyber hygiene<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> is key to keeping your account safe.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">What Does the Program Offer?<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Chapman helps safeguard personal information and proprietary information through our Online Training and Awareness Program (OTA). This program is designed to inform, promote, test, and train our users to be more cyber secure. <\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The program consists of:\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-leveltext=\"\uf0b7\" data-font=\"Symbol\" data-listid=\"2\" data-aria-posinset=\"1\" data-aria-level=\"1\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Seasonal Notifications &amp; Newsletters<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-leveltext=\"\uf0b7\" data-font=\"Symbol\" data-listid=\"2\" data-aria-posinset=\"2\" data-aria-level=\"1\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">National Cybersecurity Awareness Month<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-leveltext=\"\uf0b7\" data-font=\"Symbol\" data-listid=\"2\" data-aria-posinset=\"3\" data-aria-level=\"1\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Simulated Phishing\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-leveltext=\"\uf0b7\" data-font=\"Symbol\" data-listid=\"2\" data-aria-posinset=\"4\" data-aria-level=\"1\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Instructor Lead Training\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201c1-2-3\u201d Changes to Online Training and Awareness<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Current:<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> If a user enters username and password in an OTA simulated phishing email, they are automatically enrolled in a brief online training course.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Change:<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> After talking feedback from senior management and the Chapman community, we will now incorporate managers into the communication for some of the online training courses. Managers have been requested to allocate time for employees to complete the requested training and increase adherence to training <\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">while keeping the university safe.<\/span><\/i><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">In-person personalized training is now being offered for users to address specific needs and answer and to get feedback from you!<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Beginning on <strong>4\/1\/2022<\/strong>, if a user enters their username\/password in a simulated phish email, the following will occur:\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Password entered <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">once<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">: Online training<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Password entered <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">twice<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">: Online training and a notification to the manager<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Password entered <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">three<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> times: An instructor lead training and a notification to the manager.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Note: Entering in user data within a 12-month rolling window will initiate the steps listed
