When a product reaches the end of its life cycle, it becomes &#8220;end-of-life,&#8221; at which point the developer no longer maintains the software and does not issue future security updates.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Since December 31, 2020, Adobe has stopped distributing and supporting Flash. They made that decision based on factors such as the maturity of new standards like HTML5 and technology&#8217;s evolvement, new web requirements, and other factors. Most of the major web browsers have already disabled Flash Player.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Chapman University IS&amp;T would like to inform you that <strong>we plan to remove Adobe Flash from Chapman-owned devices on August 3<\/strong><\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"><strong>.<\/strong> Removal of end-of-life software helps protect our systems from current and future vulnerabilities that may allow attackers to compromise a device by exploiting these flaws.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">If you are running any software that requires Flash and has no update, please reach out to us at <\/span><a href=\"mailto:infosec@chapman.edu\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">infosec@chapman.edu<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.
