{"id":262,"date":"2016-07-13T11:56:38","date_gmt":"2016-07-13T18:56:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogschapman.wpenginepowered.com\/information-systems\/2016\/07\/13\/262\/"},"modified":"2026-07-17T23:39:08","modified_gmt":"2026-07-17T23:39:08","slug":"262","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/information-systems\/2016\/07\/13\/262\/","title":{"rendered":"Qualtrics File Upload Now Available"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Good Morning Fellow Panthers!<\/p>\n<p>Today we\u2019re excited to tell you about a new feature now available in Qualtrics.\u00a0 All Chapman University staff and faculty Qualtrics users now have the ability to use a new question type in their surveys call \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.qualtrics.com\/support\/survey-platform\/survey-module\/editing-questions\/question-types-guide\/advanced\/file-upload\/\">File Upload<\/a>\u201d.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0Now I know that probably does not sound that exciting at first, but wait until you see how great this new feature is.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, respondents only had the option to select an available answer or fill in an open text field.\u00a0 With this new file upload feature, respondents can now insert files such as: spreadsheets, photos, PDF, and custom extensions into your answers. (Example show below)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/information-systems\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/68\/2016\/07\/qualtrics-file-uploader.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-263\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-263\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/information-systems\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/68\/2016\/07\/qualtrics-file-uploader.jpg\" alt=\"File upload screenshot\" width=\"580\" height=\"261\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/information-systems\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/68\/2016\/07\/qualtrics-file-uploader.jpg 625w, https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/information-systems\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/68\/2016\/07\/qualtrics-file-uploader-300x135.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 580px) 100vw, 580px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now there are limits to the file sizes that can be uploaded.\u00a0 The files cannot exceed 16 MB during the uploading process.\u00a0 If you need to submit files that are large and exceed the available limit, you will need to compress the files into a ZIP file prior to uploading the documents.\u00a0 Another great feature is that you have the ability to regulate the file types that are being uploaded.\u00a0 An example of this would be if you wanted a photo in the survey answer, you have the ability to block other file types, like a spreadsheet, from being submitted.<\/p>\n<p>Along with this new question feature, comes newer ways for collecting data analysis and insight information from your surveys.
