{"id":373,"date":"2016-11-07T08:39:46","date_gmt":"2016-11-07T16:39:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogschapman.wpenginepowered.com\/information-systems\/2016\/11\/07\/virtual-cadaver-labs\/"},"modified":"2026-07-17T23:39:10","modified_gmt":"2026-07-17T23:39:10","slug":"virtual-cadaver-labs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/information-systems\/2016\/11\/07\/virtual-cadaver-labs\/","title":{"rendered":"Virtual Cadaver Labs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"line-height: 18.0pt\"><span style=\"color: #333333\">In September 2016, Chapman University&#8217;s Crean College of Health &amp; Behavioral\u00a0Sciences installed its very first Virtual Cadaver Lab. \u00a0This new lab is housing three anatomage tables that are able to display a very detailed and lifelike 3D image of a cadaver. \u00a0These tables allow students to rotate image<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>giving them a unique perspective of their subject in ways that were not available with a human cadaver.<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_380\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-380\" style=\"width: 277px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/information-systems\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/68\/2016\/11\/2016-11-04_13-56-24.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-380\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-380\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/information-systems\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/68\/2016\/11\/2016-11-04_13-56-24.jpg\" alt=\"Anatomage Table\" width=\"277\" height=\"364\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/information-systems\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/68\/2016\/11\/2016-11-04_13-56-24.jpg 628w, https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/information-systems\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/68\/2016\/11\/2016-11-04_13-56-24-228x300.jpg 228w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 277px) 100vw, 277px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-380\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Undergraduate anatomy students working on an anatomage table<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"line-height: 18.0pt;text-align: start\"><span style=\"color: #333333\">In a recent interview with Dr. Frank Frisch, Professor of Health Sciences &amp; Kinesiology and the Director of the Undergraduate Kinesiology Program at Chapman University, he described the new anatomage tables as &#8220;the way of the future&#8221;. \u00a0Dr. Frisch also stated that &#8220;The power of the computer to be able to manipulate the tissues and to isolate and identify is quite significant&#8230;&#8221;. One of the major benefits of using the anatomage tables, is that it allows student to work\u00a0and study at anytime. More importantly, they can study when they are ready. \u00a0Using the software licensed through the University, students can use their mobile devices as a tool when working in and outside of the lab.
