{"id":3863,"date":"2025-04-17T14:37:13","date_gmt":"2025-04-17T21:37:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogschapman.wpenginepowered.com\/information-systems\/2025\/04\/17\/introducing-pantherai\/"},"modified":"2026-07-17T23:39:20","modified_gmt":"2026-07-17T23:39:20","slug":"introducing-pantherai","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/information-systems\/2025\/04\/17\/introducing-pantherai\/","title":{"rendered":"Introducing PantherAI"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Information Systems and Technology (IS&amp;T) is thrilled to announce the initial release of \u201cPantherAI\u201d, a multi-platform AI portal that facilitates easy access to the latest AI technologies from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and beyond. <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cPantherAI provides an easy and safe way to use the latest artificial technology tools without signing up for individual<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> paid accounts\u201d, said Phillip Lyle, Deputy Chief Information Officer.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">PantherAI uses a new open-source application called LibreChat (developed in partnership with Harvard University) to connect users to various AI models, such as ChatGPT 4.1, Gemini, and DeepSeek, hosted by major AI companies. However, Lyle emphasizes that the use of PantherAI is safe. \u201cThe system securely sends your AI prompts to the provider to obtain the result, <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">but nothing is retained on their servers. Your historical chat data is only kept on Chapman\u2019s servers.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cPantherAI helps Chapman\u2019s researchers use AI across different fields without needing technical skills or worrying about data privacy\u201d, said Dr. Martina Nieswandt, Vice President for Research &amp; Graduate Education. \u201cThis allows them to focus on their research, scholarship and creative activities instead of keeping up with fast-changing AI tools.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cI\u2019ve been working in AI and machine learning for two decades, but the innovation we\u2019ve seen since the release of large language models like ChatGPT is like nothing I\u2019ve ever seen. That means the platform can evolve in real time alongside the field.
