{"id":728,"date":"2017-08-31T14:53:06","date_gmt":"2017-08-31T21:53:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogschapman.wpenginepowered.com\/information-systems\/2017\/08\/31\/beckman-hall-201-update\/"},"modified":"2026-07-17T23:39:12","modified_gmt":"2026-07-17T23:39:12","slug":"beckman-hall-201-update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/information-systems\/2017\/08\/31\/beckman-hall-201-update\/","title":{"rendered":"Beckman Hall 201 Update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Back in April 2017, IS&amp;T began the process of renovating the training lab in Beckman Hall 201. \u00a0We are excited to share the new collaborative flex space with you.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-730 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/information-systems\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/68\/2017\/08\/20170829_163837.jpg\" alt=\"BK 201 rear view\" width=\"315\" height=\"177\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-729 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/information-systems\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/68\/2017\/08\/20170829_163755.jpg\" alt=\"BK 201 Front View\" width=\"315\" height=\"176\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The new room setup consists of 5 stations, all with moveable furniture that can be configured to best suite the needs of the individuals or groups using the space. \u00a0Each station has its own TV display with an Apple TV and HDMI connection so users can display their devices on a larger screen. \u00a0An additional large screen monitor has been mounted in the back of the room which is used to mirror the projector display.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/information-systems\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/68\/2017\/08\/20170829_163817.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-745 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/information-systems\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/68\/2017\/08\/20170829_163817.jpg\" alt=\"Touch Panel Controller\" width=\"288\" height=\"162\" \/><\/a>The instructor station has some new features as well. \u00a0There is a touch screen panel that controls all of the displays in the room. \u00a0In the event someone at one of the stations would like to display their screen for everyone to see, the instructor has the ability to switch sources between the different stations.<\/p>\n<p>Beckman Hall 201 is\u00a0still used as an IT training space, but it is also available for individual class meetings, when an instructor needs\u00a0access to\u00a0a room that facilitates student group work and active learning.
