Fowler School of Law students have numerous choices to direct their studies into high-impact career paths. Next year, they\u2019ll have another option, with the addition of the law school\u2019s new Criminal Law Emphasis Program, our seventh certificate offering.<\/p>\n<p>The Criminal Law Emphasis Program is designed to provide a tailored education to those students who wish to pursue careers as prosecutors or defense attorneys. It adds to the existing emphasis programs &#8212; Entertainment Law; Environmental, Land Use &amp; Real Estate; Tax Law; Business Law; Advocacy &amp; Dispute Resolution; and International Law \u2013 where students receive a high degree of specialization in their chosen fields of interest.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the specialty coursework, students are encouraged to complete an externship for elective credit. Employers that hire graduates in this area rely heavily on the records built by students who have worked in the offices of prosecutors or defense attorneys while in school.
