On October 6, 2016, Chapman University Fowler School of Law students will get a unique opportunity to observe appellate arguments before the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, when the court holds live hearings on the law school campus. The circuit court exercises nationwide jurisdiction over patent law appeals, appeals from the United States Patent and Trademark Office, the Court of Federal Claims, and other areas of law having nationwide importance.<\/p>\n

The arguments will be heard in the law school\u2019s state-of-the-art appellate courtroom and will address four appeals related to issues of intellectual property, tax law, and civil procedure.<\/p>\n

Following the arguments, Fowler School of Law Professor Sam Ernst will lead a Q&A session with the judges and students, offering a rare occasion to hear directly from a group of uniquely qualified authorities on intellectual property law, tax law, appellate procedure, and other areas of law.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
