Fowler School of Law alumnus Sean Bigley (\u201913) will serve as a legal expert on federal security clearance matters for a panel discussion hosted by The James Wilson Institute in Washington, D.C. on Thursday, October 20.<\/p>\n<p>The event, entitled <a href=\"http:\/\/jameswilsoninstitute.org\/events\/show\/the-hillary-defense-is-our-national-security-in-jeopardy\">The State of Our Law After Comey\u2019s Decision or: Can Anyone Be Prosecuted Any Longer for Revealing Life-threating, Confidential Material?<\/a> will address potential consequences of the decision not to prosecute Hillary Clinton regarding the use of a personal email server. Other panelists include the Honorable Michael Mukasey, former Attorney General of the United States under President George W. Bush, and Andrew McCarthy, former Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York and a senior fellow at the National Review Institute. The discussion will be moderated by Hadley Arkes, the Edward N. Ney Professor in American Institutions (political science) Emeritus at Amherst College.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is a tremendous honor being asked to share the stage with these legal titans,\u201d Bigley said. \u201cI am pleased that I can lend my expertise and remain grateful to Chapman\u2019s Fowler School of Law for providing the foundation that got me here.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bigley, a recognized expert on personnel security law, is founder and partner of Bigley Ranish, LLP \u2013 one of only a few firms in the nation dealing exclusively with security clearance issues. The firm represents security clearance holders worldwide before all federal agencies.
