Fowler School of Law alumni were sworn in as new members of the California State Bar at the law school\u2019s Bar Admission Ceremony on Wednesday, May 24.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/law\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/71\/2017\/05\/208A3165.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-12705\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-12705\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/law\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/71\/2017\/05\/208A3165.jpg\" alt=\"Richard Y. The Honorable Richard Y. Lee, Supervising Judge of the Superior Court of Orange County \u2013 West Panel, administered the state oath and the Honorable Karen E. Scott, Magistrate Judge of the Central District of California, administered the federal oath.<\/p>\n<p>In his opening remarks, Judge Lee told the new admittees, \u201cStrive for excellence, be significant in everything that you do. \u2026 I challenge you to make a positive difference in your community. I challenge you to be an inspiration to others, and to make outstanding contributions to the legal profession.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/law\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/71\/2017\/05\/208A3220.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-12707\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/law\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/71\/2017\/05\/208A3220.jpg\" alt=\"Karen E. Friedland, Immediate Past President of the Orange County Bar Association, and Jason Burris \u201902 (JD \u201908), Chair of the Fowler School of Law Alumni Advisory Board. Friedland encouraged the new lawyers to participate in their local bar association and especially the Young Lawyers Division.
