Professor Katherine Darmer was quoted in an article in the Orange County Register <\/em>entitled, \u201cMike Carona: From \u2018America\u2019s Sheriff\u2019 to Defendant.\u201d With jury selection set to begin in the corruption case against former Orange County Sheriff Mike Carona, the article discusses the case and the multiple motions to dismiss filed by Carona\u2019s attorneys. Professor Darmer expressed doubt that the motions would be granted and said that the government appears to have a strong case against Corona. \u201cIf all the government had was Haidl [Carona\u2019s former assistant sheriff], then I may agree that prosecutors don\u2019t have much of a case.
