Kennedy Hall played host to the 2026 Chapman Law Review Symposium, Data Flow Frontiers: Privacy, Policy & Practice, on Friday, a sold-out affair boasting esteemed scholars and practitioners in the Data Privacy space. With a keynote address by Berkeley Data Privacy scholar, Professor Paul Schwartz and two panel discussions, the first, examining the terms and conditions we accept daily to utilize software and other tech services; and the second, examining market-driven innovation versus rights-based protections that are struggling to keep with technological innovations, the Kennedy Hall audience was enthralled by the discourse and bleeding-edge developments described by this exemplary group of scholars and guests.<\/p>\n

Our thanks go out to an amazing group of panelists from around the nation, including Professor Jon M. Garon, Nancy Libin, Lily Li, Professor Gregory S. McNeal, Gretchen A. Ramos, Professor John M. Yun, Professor Mason Clark and Fowler Professor Nahal Kazemi, who delivered a tour de force of insight and expertise from this fascinating field of law.<\/p>\n

It was a full team effort, with Chapman Law Review members working tirelessly to plan, market, and coordinate the event. Special mention must be made of Chapman Law Review team members Riya Beri (Executive Program Editor), Jack Mays (Editor-in-Chief), Brianna Gerth (Executive Managing Editor), and Hannah Hussey (Executive Business Editor), along with CLR faculty Advisor Celestine McConville, for their participation and incredible efforts in preparing for the event. The Chapman Law review team also acknowledges a debt to Fowler School of Law Professor Lan Cao, who was instrumental in securing Professor Schwartz as the keynote for this event.
