{"id":1607,"date":"2008-04-04T23:49:22","date_gmt":"2008-04-05T06:49:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogschapman.wpenginepowered.com\/law\/2008\/04\/04\/oc-register-and-others-feature-professor-eggert\/"},"modified":"2008-04-04T23:49:22","modified_gmt":"2008-04-05T06:49:22","slug":"oc-register-and-others-feature-professor-eggert","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/law\/2008\/04\/04\/oc-register-and-others-feature-professor-eggert\/","title":{"rendered":"OC Register and Others Feature Professor Eggert"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/law\/faculty\/eggert.asp\">Professor Kurt Eggert<\/a> was invited to speak at the 7th Annual Alberta Conference on Gambling Research held at Banff, Canada, co-sponsored by the Alberta Gaming Research Institute and the University of Alberta.\u00a0 Profofessor Eggert gave a presentation entitled: Improving Consumer Protection in the Gambling Industry.<\/p>\n<p>Professor <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/law\/faculty\/eggert.asp\">Kurt Eggert<\/a> also had a sound-bite in a story that appeared on &#8220;Marketplace,&#8221; from American Public Radio, about Treasury&#8217;s new plans to reorganize the nation&#8217;s financial regulators. <a href=\"http:\/\/marketplace.publicradio.org\/display\/web\/2008\/03\/31\/paulson_didnt_say\/\">Listen to story&#8230;<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/law\/faculty\/eggert.asp\">Professor Kurt Eggert<\/a> was quoted a story in the <em>Macon Telegraph<\/em> on fixing the mortgage mess. &#8220;The big question is how many real loan modifications are happening, and I don&#8217;t think they know,&#8221; said Kurt Eggert, a professor at the Chapman University School of Law in Orange, Calif., and a member of a Federal Reserve consumer advisory board. &#8220;How can you say you are on top of the problem if you don&#8217;t know how broadly the &#8216;best solution&#8217; is being applied?&#8221; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.macon.com\/102\/story\/308773.html\">Read story&#8230;<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Additionally, Professor <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/law\/faculty\/eggert.asp\">Kurt Eggert<\/a> was quoted in the <em>Orange County Register<\/em> in a piece entitled &#8220;Report blasts New Century, KPMG.&#8221; He stated, &#8220;We had appraisers over-appraising the values of houses&#8230;.
