This opportunity broadened her professional network, which eventually\u00a0led her to her first job out of law school, the Legal Counsel\u00a0for the Phoenix Coyotes, an NHL franchise.\u00a0 During her two-year tenure with the Coyotes, she managed the day-to-day\u00a0operations of the legal department during a turbulent time as the team had filed for bankruptcy in May 2009 and was seeking an owner.<\/p>\n<p>Lewis transitioned from the Phoenix\u00a0Coyotes to the Phoenix\u00a0Suns where she manages the legal day-to-day operations for the Phoenix Suns, the Phoenix Mercury (a WNBA franchise) and the US Airways Center.<\/p>\n<p>Lewis said, &#8220;In both grad school and law school, the ability to supplement my\u00a0classroom learning with practical experience\u00a0 gave me a competitive advantage and the tools necessary to land my dream job as in-house counsel for a professional sports team.\u00a0 More specifically, Chapman&#8217;s externship program\u00a0granted me the opportunity to work with\u00a0the well-respected\u00a0in-house counsel\u00a0of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, David Cohen&#8230;..
