Professor Eastman was quoted in an article in The Chicago Tribune<\/em>.\u00a0 The article\u00a0 says that as the debate rages on about individual state’s rights to adopt more rigid policies regarding illegal immigration, federal judges have recently blocked strict new immigration laws adopted by conservative legislatures in a half-dozen states. Now, as the cases head to the Supreme Court, many are wondering whether the conservative majority in the Supreme Court will overturn the rulings of the lower courts, which thus far have sided with the Obama administration’s views that regulating illegal immigration is the province solely of the federal government.
