The Los Angeles Times<\/em> published an article entitled,”California’s political watchdog panel eases its approach to ethics issues.”\u00a0 The article questions the decision of the Fair Political Practices Commission, which was created to enforce laws on election campaigns and lobbying,\u00a0 to eased restrictions on gifts from lobbyists to lawmakers, scale back its open meetings, and stop notifying the public of pending investigations.\u00a0 Professor Rotunda, who is an appointed Commissioner\u00a0 on the Fair Political Practices Commission, is quoted as commenting, “I think the agenda is to basically castrate the commission.”\u00a0 Read the full article here<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
