Students and lawyers from across the country gathered this week at the ABA Annual Meeting in San Francisco. Chapman\u2019s law school was represented by Steven Cometa<\/a>, Vice Chair of the ABA-Law Student Division and Ray Gennawey, Chapman Law Student Bar Association President. During the conference, Ray was excited to learn that he was elected to serve as Law Student Division Delegate to the ABA House of Delegates.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt speaks volumes about the growing reputation and earned respect for Chapman that is recognized from coast to coast,\u201d said Ray. In his new role, Ray will essentially represent all law students from ABA accredited law schools to the ABA’s legislative body.<\/p>\n

“I am honored to be elected by the student leaders of 117 law schools to serve as a Delegate in the American Bar Association House of Delegates. This position serves as the voice for 140,000 law students to the ABA. With full voting rights in the House of Delegates, I will work to craft ABA resolutions that are worthy of our students, and the legal community at large.\u201d<\/p>\n

During the conference, Ray was able to hear speeches by U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder, US Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy and former Secretary of State\u00a0Hilary Clinton. He also witnessed Clinton accept the ABA\u2019s highest honor<\/a>\u2014the 2013 ABA Medal.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
