{"id":6346,"date":"2013-11-18T15:31:27","date_gmt":"2013-11-18T23:31:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogschapman.wpenginepowered.com\/law\/2013\/11\/18\/chapman-law-students-travel-to-uganda-for-2013-destination-africa-program\/"},"modified":"2026-07-22T16:22:34","modified_gmt":"2026-07-22T16:22:34","slug":"chapman-law-students-travel-to-uganda-for-2013-destination-africa-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/law\/2013\/11\/18\/chapman-law-students-travel-to-uganda-for-2013-destination-africa-program\/","title":{"rendered":"Chapman Law Students Travel to Uganda for 2013 \u2018Destination Africa\u2019 Program"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In collaboration with the <em>Destination: Africa<\/em> program at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/dodge\/\">Dodge College of Film and Media Arts<\/a>, Chapman University&#8217;s Fowler School of Law students Stephanie Lincoln (\u201914) and Juliana Madden (\u201915) were selected to help with legal research and post-production work for 13 documentary film students. In June, the students finalized documentaries about non-governmental organizations in Uganda.<\/p>\n<p>Since 2009, numerous Chapman law students have ventured to Africa to help create short documentaries profiling the work of innovative NGOs. Our law students have become an integral and vital part of the program, and they have had tremendous experiences with fellow Chapman students at work on these films.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-6348\" alt=\"Uganda\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/law\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/71\/2013\/11\/Uganda-posed-1.jpg\" width=\"160\" height=\"160\" \/><\/a>&#8220;Working in Uganda taught me how human rights has no borders.
