Have you recently changed firms, been promoted, published or made partner and would like to be featured in the next online edition of Alumni Highlights? <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/law\/alumni\/class-note-form.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">Submit a class note!<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Paula Schaefer (JD &#8217;01)<\/strong> has been a <a href=\"http:\/\/paulaschaeferlaw.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">solo practitioner<\/a> for three years, doing business law, estate planning and administration. Last year she helped form\u00a0the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.girlsontherun.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Orange County chapter of Girls on the Run<\/a> and served as its legal counsel.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Scott Levitt (JD \u201903)<\/strong> started teaching Real Estate Law at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/business\/\" target=\"_blank\">Chapman University Argyros School of Business and Economics<\/a> this year. He previously taught Business Law at Cerritos College, Construction Law at Cal Poly Pomona, and Real Estate Finance at Chapman University. Scott is currently <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/law\/alumni\/alumni-advisory\/\" target=\"_blank\">Alumni Board Chair\u00a0of the Chapman University Fowler School of Law Alumni Advisory Board<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The International Tax Review recently recognized\u00a0<strong>Tara Ferris (JD &#8217;07)<\/strong>\u00a0as part of the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.internationaltaxreview.com\/Article\/3288272\/The-Global-Tax-50-2013.html\" target=\"_blank\">2013 Global Tax 50 Most Influential People<\/a> in tax policy, acknowledging\u00a0her role in the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA). Wegman (JD &#8217;10)<\/strong> was <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/law\/2014\/02\/06\/fowler-school-of-law-alumni-included-in-daily-journals-top-5-associates-to-watch\/\" target=\"_blank\">named one of the Top 5 Associates to Watch<\/a> in the special &#8220;Top 20 Under 40&#8221; issue of the <em>Daily Journal<\/em> on January 29, 2014.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Matt Feron (JD &#8217;10)<\/strong> opened <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mattferonlaw.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">his own criminal defense firm<\/a> in the City of Orange after two years of working for the District Attorney.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Brett Murdock (JD \u201811)<\/strong> is in his first term as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ci.brea.ca.us\/directory.aspx?EID=3\" target=\"_blank\">Mayor of the City of Brea<\/a>. He was elected to the Brea City Council in November 2010 to serve a four-year term.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Jessica Abramson (JD &#8217;11)<\/strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ukiahdailyjournal.com\/news\/ci_24472968\/existing-vacancies-filled-mendocino-county-das-office\" target=\"_blank\">became Deputy District Attorney in the Mendocino County DA&#8217;s office<\/a>. She was\u00a0assigned to the office&#8217;s misdemeanor trial team.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Morgan Windbiel (JD &#8217;12)<\/strong>\u00a0received his LL.M., with Distinction, in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center in May 2013.
