Chapman University Dale E. Fowler School of Law was represented at this event by two teams from the&#xA0;<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/law\/competitions\/moot-court\/\" target=\"_blank\">Appellate Moot Court Board<\/a><br \/>\n.&#xA0;The first team included Minhquan Nguyen<br \/>\n<strong>(JD &#x2019;14)<\/strong><br \/>\n and Benjamin Bertch<br \/>\n<strong>(JD &#x2019;15)<\/strong><br \/>\n. The second team included Nilofar Karbassi<br \/>\n<strong>(JD &#x2019;15)<\/strong><br \/>\n and Ryan Anderson<br \/>\n<strong>(JD &#x2019;15)<\/strong><br \/>\n.&#xD;<br \/>\n&#xD;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6727\" alt=\"team-picture-at-finals_resized-2\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/law\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/71\/2014\/02\/Team-Picture-at-Finals_resized1.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"366\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/law\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/71\/2014\/02\/Team-Picture-at-Finals_resized1.jpg 600w, https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/law\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/71\/2014\/02\/Team-Picture-at-Finals_resized1-300x183.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">All four Fowler School of Law students received Oral Advocacy Awards each day of the event. On the first day, the team ranked in the following positions for Oral Advocacy Awards in the preliminary rounds: Benjamin 10th, Ryan 5th, Nilofar 4th and Minhquan 2nd. On the second day, the team took the top three Oral Advocacy Awards with Minhquan in 3rd, Ryan in 2nd, and Nilofar recognized as the 1st place best advocate!<\/p>\n<p>&#xD;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-6723\" alt=\"oralist-awards_resized-2\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/law\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/71\/2014\/02\/Oralist-Awards_resized1.jpg\" width=\"580\" height=\"435\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/law\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/71\/2014\/02\/Oralist-Awards_resized1.jpg 600w, https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/law\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/71\/2014\/02\/Oralist-Awards_resized1-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 580px) 100vw, 580px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&#xD;<br \/>\nBoth teams made it through the quarter final rounds and were two of the four teams in the semi-final rounds. Minhquan and Benjamin went to the final round of the competition, where they lost in a close decision. The author of the problem was one of the final round judges and she said the panel was &#8220;obsessed about Minhquan&#8221; during their deliberations. One of the competition judges stated that in her entire time judging Moot Court she has never seen a better finals round than the National Juvenile Law Moot Court Competition she judged this weekend.&#xD;<br \/>\n&#xD;<br \/>\nAccording to Nilofar, &#x201C;it was basically a sweep with Fowler winning most of the major categories&#x2026;it goes to show how great the Moot Court program at Chapman Fowler School of Law is&#x2026;we worked hard, had a great coach&#x2026;and it paid off.&#x201D; Membership on the Appellate Moot Court Board provides an excellent opportunity for Fowler Law students to test their advocacy skills.&#xD;<br \/>\n&#xD;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/law\/competitions\/moot-court\/\" target=\"_blank\">Learn more about Chapman University Dale E.
