As we continue to find innovative and creative ways to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Leatherby Libraries<\/a>, we are also looking ahead to the future. Our first book display of the Fall 2024 semester is dedicated to exploring the future of libraries.<\/p>\n

The \u201cWhat Does a Library of the Future Look Like?\u201d book display is a literary exploration of the cutting-edge trends and technologies that are shaping the libraries of tomorrow.<\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n

As we celebrate our past and look ahead to the next 20 years, we invite you to stop by the display on the First Floor to discover these forward-thinking books and learn more about the exciting possibilities for libraries. One notable title in our current display is The Future of the Library: From Electric Media to Digital Media<\/em><\/a> by Robert K. Logan. This book delves into how libraries have adapted to changing technological landscapes, from electronic media to today\u2019s digital revolution. Logan highlights the library\u2019s vital role in helping society navigate new technologies like artificial intelligence.<\/p>\n

Another standout in our collection is Library 2035: Imagining the Next Generation of Libraries<\/em><\/a> by Dr. Sandra Hirsh. This visionary work gathers insights from leading experts on how libraries will evolve to address future challenges, ensuring they remain hubs for information and innovation. The book is accompanied by the Library 2035 Webcast Series,<\/a> where Dr. Hirsh interviews contributors about their visions for the future. If you\u2019re curious about what libraries of the future might look like, join the Library 2035: Imagining the Next Generation of Libraries<\/em> mini-conference<\/a> on Tuesday, October 1, from 12:00 – 3:00 pm PDT. This free virtual event explores global perspectives on the future of libraries through insightful discussions with leading experts.<\/p>\n
