The Leatherby Libraries is pleased to announce that applications for the second annual <\/span>Eric M. Scandrett Graduate Research Prize<\/span><\/a> are now open! This prize recognizes Chapman University graduate students who created exceptional research by effectively utilizing library resources. All graduates who have used library resources to assist with completing research projects and papers in the past year are encouraged to apply. <\/span>Applications from all disciplines across the Chapman campus are welcome to apply. Whether you are studying Pharmacy or Film, all Chapman Graduate Students are encouraged to write about their experiences utilizing the Leatherby Libraries’ resources to aid them in completing their research.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Students interested in applying must submit a <\/span>1000-2000 word essay<\/span><\/strong> on how they utilized the Leatherby Libraries’ resources while conducting their research. Our panel of judges, comprised of faculty and librarians, will evaluate the essay along with the application and research sample submission. Student submissions will be scored primarily based on the description of the quality of evidence of the student’s research process rather than on the final research project.<\/span><\/p>\n

First, second, and third-place winners will receive cash prizes! In addition, winners will receive recognition on the <\/span>Leatherby Libraries’ blog<\/span><\/a> and\u00a0<\/span>social media,<\/span><\/a> a certificate, and your winning application will be\u00a0showcased on the Chapman University Digital Commons. Winners will also <\/span>be invited<\/span> to publish their final project on the Chapman University Digital Commons and a small celebration to honor our prize recipients.<\/span><\/p>\n
