Women have long been at the forefront of discovery, innovation, and leadership in these fields, driving inventions and research that have shaped our society.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>One of our selections <em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">is <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/chapcat.chapman.edu\/record=b9866909\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Women of Color in STEM: Navigating the Workforce<\/span><\/a><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> by Julia Ballenger, Barbara Polnick, and<\/span> <span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Beverly Irby, which<\/span> <span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">unveils the challenges and achievements of women of color across STEM disciplines, including mathematics, science, and engineering. The authors examine how intersecting identities, including race, class, and gender, have impacted the experiences of the highlighted women in their professional fields. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Another selection, <\/span><em><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/chapcat.chapman.edu\/search~S1\/?searchtype=t&amp;searcharg=Women+in+Water+Quality%3A+Investigations+by+Prominent+Female+Engineers+&amp;searchscope=1&amp;SORT=D&amp;extended=0&amp;SUBMIT=Search&amp;searchlimits=&amp;searchorigarg=aDeborah+Jean+O%27Bannon\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Women in Water Quality: Investigations by Prominent Female Engineers <\/span><\/a><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">by Deborah Jean O&#8217;Bannon, explores the impact of women&#8217;s research on the public health and environmental engineering profession. Each chapter highlights the contributions and biography of a woman who has directly contributed to engineering.
