Continuing with the celebration<\/a> of America\u2019s 250th anniversary, the Leatherby Libraries presents our newest book display, highlighting the events, people, and ideas that helped shape America into the nation it is today!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This semester-long display features works that explore the American Revolution, the Treaty of Paris (1783), which ended the war, the creation of the Constitution, and the perspectives of people during the founding era of the United States. The display contains books for all ages, CDs, and other physical media.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Highlights of the display include <\/span>Jump Ship to Freedom<\/span><\/i><\/a>, a historical fiction novel by authors James Lincoln Collier and Christopher Collier. The novel follows Daniel Arabus, a young enslaved boy living in America after the Revolutionary War, and his journey to reclaim notes that promise his family’s freedom.<\/span><\/p>\n

If you\u2019re more interested in learning history through music, check out <\/span>Hamilton<\/span><\/i><\/a>, by award-winning American songwriter, actor, and filmmaker Lin-Manuel Miranda. Listen to the musical\u2019s songs as you learn more about the life story of one of America\u2019s Founding Fathers, Alexander Hamilton.<\/span><\/p>\n
