Artiscopic Cellular Art<\/em> is a new art exhibition that merges the visual arts with the science under a microscope. Artiscopic <\/em>is the first art exhibition to be held at the Rinker Health Science Campus in Irvine, CA, and is currently on display in the Health Sciences Study Commons.<\/p>\n

The Leatherby Libraries is excited to partner with Schmid College of Science & Technology, Crean College of Health and Behavioral Sciences, and the School of Pharmacy to present this landmark project, which features works by Dr. Mohommad Kamal, a.k.a. KIM\u0298.<\/p>\n

\"Artiscopic\"<\/a>
The artist, Dr. Mohammad Kamal (KIM\u0298), creates abstract pieces from human, animal, and plant cells.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

A pathologist by day, KIM\u0298 creates stunning, naturally occurring images by using a microscope to explore human, animal and plant cells. Regarding his work as a pathologist and artist, KIM\u0298 states:<\/p>\n

“It is not often that interesting shapes and patterns take place. I am doing my job and only focus on the task at hand. But then, like when a coal miner unexpectedly discovers a diamond, the feeling of excitement is overwhelming! I just can’t wait to share its beauty with the world.”<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The exhibition runs from January 30 through May 30, 2018, and is on display in the Health Sciences Study Commons at the Rinker Health Science Campus. An opening reception<\/a> will be held in Atrium 131 on Wednesday, February 21, from 6 – 8 p.m.<\/p>\n
