This year’s

\n promises to be just as action-packed of a weekend as last year. There is an entire calendar of activities hoping to connect the entire Chapman community—and the Leatherby Libraries are no exception. As always, the library is hosting a variety of interesting and entertaining events this year. \"001\"<\/a>Faculty Master Class: “The Digital Humanities at Chapman University”<\/strong><\/h3>\n


\nOn Friday, learn more about the growing relationship between technology and the humanities at Chapman from Dr. Doug Dechow (digital humanities and sciences librarian at the Leatherby Libraries) and Dr. Jana Remy (Associate Director of Digital Scholarship). Doug and Jana will explore the highly interdisciplinary field of digital humanities and highlight exciting research projects such as the digitization and analysis of Chapman University’s War Letters Archive (WLA), a part of the Center for American War Letters.

\"006-winner\"<\/a>Dialogue with the Dean: “Special Collections in a 21st-century library”<\/strong><\/h3>\n


\nLater that day, Dean Charlene Baldwin will be speaking about “Special Collections in a 21 st-century library.” This is your chance to get a hands-on look at some of the treasures of the Leatherby Libraries. Dean Baldwin will be displaying some of our newest acquisitions—including valuable war letters and a new collection of World War I memorabilia—and sharing the stories that make these documents and artifacts important. She’ll even give you the opportunity to handle some of the items for yourself!

\"homecoming-2014-068\"<\/a>Author Showcase & Book Sale<\/strong><\/h3>\n


\nThe fun continues on Saturday, October 3, with the library’s second Homecoming Book Sale—The library will have a table on the Piazza all day selling gently used books. These aren’t just academic or scholarly works, either—books for sale include bestselling fiction, travel guides, and more. This year we’ll also be selling pop and rock CDs. All used books and CDs will be available for purchase for only $1.00 each.
\n
\nThe book sale is joined this year by an Alumni Author Showcase. Several members of the Chapman Family will be selling and signing their latest books.

\n, dedicated to preserve and promote the literary culture of the City of Orange. Kevin and other authors from Black Hill Press will be on hand to sell their books and share their stories.

California’s Gold<\/em><\/strong> Exhibit and Huell Howser Archive<\/strong><\/h3>\n


\nWhile you’re on campus, don’t miss the
\nCalifornia’s Gold <\/em>
\nexhibit celebrating the life and career of Huell Howser. The joy that the late TV legend Huell Howser shared with generations of Californians infuses a permanent exhibit sponsored by the Automobile Club of Southern California and housed in Chapman University’s Leatherby Libraries.

\n). This year, we’re hosting a special FREE showing of
\nA Golden State of Mind, <\/em>
