Located in the Leatherby Libraries Hall of Art on the first floor, this exhibition\u00a0features works by students from Santa Ana Unified School District&#8217;s Valley High School.<\/p>\n<p>During the reception, visitors enjoyed refreshments as they enjoyed these colorful paintings that celebrate cultural identity and community. Special guests spoke about the project and its importance.<\/p>\n<p>This exhibition is part of Chapman University&#8217;s third annual <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/education\/events\/ethnic-studies.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Education and Ethnic Studies Summit<\/a>. A one-day event on April 28, 2018, the Summit featured nationally recognized experts in the Ethnic Studies field as well as community activists and leaders with the theme, &#8220;Nurturing Community: Critical Consciousness, Spirituality, and Solidarity.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Leatherby Libraries would like to thank everyone who participated in this event and made this exhibition a success, including the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/education\/index.aspx\">Donna Ford Attallah College of Educational Studies<\/a>, and Benjam\u00edn V\u00e1zquez.\u00a0Special thanks to Chapman&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/diversity\/index.aspx\">Office of Diversity &amp;
