The Leatherby Libraries is pleased to announce that, in collaboration with the Dale E. and Sarah Ann Fowler School of Engineering<\/a>, we have upgraded our existing subscriptions to materials from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) to a larger, more comprehensive database: the IEEE Electronic Library<\/a>. This new database replaces, supplements, and expands our previous subscriptions to the IEEE Computer Science Digital Library (CSDL) and the IEEE Computer Society Conference Proceedings.<\/p>\n

The IEEE Electronic Library includes over a million articles from 195 IEEE journals, magazines, and transactions, some of which date back to the late nineteenth century, along with over 3.6 million conference papers dating from 1936 to the present. It also includes over 4,600 approved and published IEEE standards and gives users the option to add draft standards. Containing nearly one-third of the world\u2019s scientific literature relating to electrical engineering, communications, and computer science, this new resource will greatly expand access to important materials for teaching and research for the Fowler School of Engineering and other STEM programs at Chapman University.<\/p>\n

Commenting on the partnership between the Leatherby Libraries and the School of Engineering, Dr. Andrew Lyon, Dean of the Fowler School of Engineering, wrote, “It is so gratifying to be able to collaborate with the Leatherby Libraries to bring these resources to Chapman. Fowler Engineering\u2019s student- and faculty-led research initiatives are growing more rapidly than I could have ever imagined, and the IEEE library is a key resource that enables that growth.”<\/p>\n
