The Leatherby Libraries is pleased to offer access to Research Methods Primary Sources<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This new resource introduces the fundamental approaches to working with primary source materials and historical evidence. This database is designed to support humanities and social sciences students. It also includes nearly 200 essays, videos, “how-to” guides, and case studies by subject specialists to help students learn how to find, identify, analyze, and work with primary sources.<\/p>\n

The database is organized into three main<\/strong> pillars of learning:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Learning Tools: <\/strong>Tools that help students learn how to use primary sources and understand archives and key concepts in historical study.<\/li>\n
  2. Case Studies<\/strong>: Over 120 peer-reviewed studies demonstrate how professional historians use them for their research and teach students how to analyze primary sources properly.<\/li>\n
  3. Practice Sources: <\/strong>This includes hundreds of documents from over 50 archives that allow students to apply their lessons to sample newspapers, correspondence, advertisements, and oral histories.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
