The Leatherby Libraries is pleased to offer access to two additional Bloomsbury resources: the Bloomsbury Video Library<\/a> and the Bloomsbury International Encyclopedia of Surrealism<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Bloomsbury Video Library<\/a>* features content from filmed performances and fiction films to documentaries and instructional videos. We have access to the entire Arts and Humanities Collection, which includes 2,000 films from the Dance Collection, Film and Media Collection, History and Culture Collection, Music Collection, and Visual and Applied Arts Collection.<\/p>\n

The International Encyclopedia of Surrealism<\/a> is \u201ca comprehensive and systematic overview of one of the most influential and enduring 20th-century art movements, from its beginnings to the present day, featuring a three-volume major reference work, interactive timeline and rare archive images, portraits, and artworks.” This encyclopedia covers materials from 1917 to the present.<\/p>\n

Additionally, we added the Auteur Film Studies Collection to the existing Bloomsbury BFI Classic<\/a> database. The Auteur Film Studies collection includes 91 ebooks on popular and cult films from the Auteur imprint of Liverpool University Press. It includes books about movies such as Carrie, Don’t Look Now, Let the Right One In, Nosferatu, Inception, Blade Runner, Twin Peaks: Firewalk With Me, Pan’s Labyrinth, Waltz With Bashir, <\/em>and The Matrix.<\/em> Additionally, other titles explore Indian films, feminist cinema, disaster movies, French cinema, German cinema, and screenwriting.<\/p>\n

This expands our current Bloomsbury digital content in the Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences, which already includes Bloomsbury BFI Classics<\/a> and Bloomsbury Food Library.<\/a><\/p>\n

Bloomsbury BFI Classics<\/a><\/div>\n

A collection of 160 ebooks from the British Film Institute’s Film Classics book series which introduces, interprets, and celebrates landmarks of world cinema from the silent era to the 21st century. Each title includes an argument for the film’s ‘classic’ status, a discussion of its production and reception history, its place within a genre or national cinema, an account of its technical and aesthetic importance, and in many cases, the author’s response to the film.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Bloomsbury Food Library<\/a>
\nA collection of encyclopedias; references works; over 100 ebooks; image collections from the Culinary Arts Museum at Johnson & Wales University, The National Archives of the UK, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art; historic illustrated menus; and podcasts featuring interviews with food scholars.<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n
