The Leatherby Libraries is hosting a semester-long display in conjunction with the upcoming conference Motherhood to motherhoods: Ideologies of ‘The Feminine’<\/a> from Friday, April 28 – Sunday, April 30, 2023. This conference is hosted by Wilkinson College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences.<\/a><\/p>\n

Diversity and Development Libarian Essraa Nawar will participate as a panelist in the Motherhood to motherhoods: Ideologies of \u2018The Feminine\u2019 conference. Her presentation titled \u201cWhat You Do Not Know about Muslim American Mothers\u201d<\/a> is on Saturday, April 29, 2023 1:15 – 2:35 p.m., in Beckman, room 107.<\/p>\n

Featuring over 50 books, you will find topics ranging from the politics of motherhood and femininity to gender, health, and much more!<\/p>\n

Books such as The Motherhood Complex: The Story of Our Changing Selves<\/span><\/i><\/a> by Melissa Hogenboom discuss how experiencing motherhood influences the sense of self and how the brain changes during pregnancy. What Gender is Motherhood?: Changing Yor\u00f9b\u00e1 Ideals of Power, Procreation, and Identity in the Age of Modernity<\/i><\/a> by Oy\u00e8r\u00f3nk\u1eb9\u0301 Oy\u011bw\u00f9m\u00ed talks about the topic of gender and motherhood and the non-gendered ontology of motherhood.<\/span><\/p>\n
