He’s tackled zombies, and now Shane Salk ’08 is back for more. This time he’s taking on the legendary ghosts who one Christmas Eve long, long ago scared the bah humbug right out of that famously grumpy Scrooge.

Salk, the Chapman University theatre performance graduate who created the successful
We’re Alive – A Zombie Story of Survival
, has produced his second radio drama,
A Christmas Carol
, based on the classic
Charles Dickens story and featuring a cast of award-winning voice actors as well as original music composed by Dave Beukers ’09, music composition.

“It’s a beloved story that so many people know and radio drama is something that most people don’t really know,” Salk said.

Salk decided to bring the two together. Given the success of the
We’re Alive
series, he says he has a hunch that there is a growing audience eager to eat up radio-style drama delivered in downloadable formats, as well as CDs.

With backing from a handful of independent investors, Salk said he was able to land high-profile actors and record the production in state-of-the-art industry studios. Playing Scrooge is Emmy winner Maurice Lamarche, who voices Lt. Kif Kroker in
Futurama
. Playing Bob Cratchet and the Ghost of Marley is Rob Paulson, who voiced Yakko in
Animaniacs
and Raphael in
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
.

Other actors in the production include Neil Flynn, the janitor in
Scrubs
and current star of
The Middle
, and Robbie Rist, the original voice of Michelangelo in
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
.

There is also a Spanish version of the 70-minute recording. To purchase a digital version for $5.95, visit iTunes.com. CDs are also available for $14.99 from the distributor
Blackstone Audio
