Since the beginning of the pandemic until today, there have been over 3,795 reported cases of hate incidents tracked by “Stop AAPI Hate.” Similar to the support of the Black Lives Matter movement, where CUSP student organizations (CSHP, ACCP, AMCP, APhA, CHAPSA, KY, PDC, VAPSA) raised and donated $28,237 to Black Lives Matter Global Network to fight against racial injustice, CUSP student organizations (CSHP\/ASHP, SCCP\/ACCP, PDC, and PLS) have collaborated once again to support the community efforts to raise awareness of the injustice made toward Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) individuals.<\/p>\n

To support the AAPI community, CUSP student organizations raised $21,510 thanks to 282 generous donors<\/strong>, including a match donation from an anonymous donor, and the total donation was divided equally among the listed organizations below to advocate for local, state, and national policies that reinforce human rights and civil rights protections:<\/p>\n

The National Asian Pacific American Women\u2019s Forum<\/a>:<\/strong> Directly advocates and supports immigrant Asian women’s worker and reproductive rights.
\nStop AAPI Hate<\/a>:\u00a0<\/strong>launched in March of last year to track and respond to incidents of hate, violence, harassment, and discrimination against Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders.
\nAsian American Journalist Association<\/a>\u00a0(AAJA):<\/strong>\u00a0works towards the visibility and inclusion of AAPI journalists in newsroom leadership, and towards equitable and accurate coverage of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPIs) and AAPI issues.
\n<\/strong>Chinatown CDC<\/a>:<\/strong>\u00a0is a community development organization that serves as neighborhood advocates, organizers and planners, and as developers and managers of affordable housing.
\nChinese Progressive Association<\/a>:<\/strong> educates, organizes, and empowers the working-class immigrant Chinese community in San Francisco to build collective power with other oppressed communities to demand better living and working conditions and justice for all people.
\nAsian Americans Advancing Justice<\/a>\u00a0(Atlanta and National):<\/strong>\u00a0an organization dedicated to fighting for civil rights and empowering Asian Americans to create a more just America for all.
\nSoutheast Asian Community Alliance:<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0SEACA\u2019s mission is to build power among Southeast Asian youth and their communities in Los Angeles for a more just and equitable society through intergenerational, multiethnic dialogue, leadership development, and community organizing.
\nSouth Asian Americans Leading Together Inc:\u00a0<\/a><\/strong>SAALT is a nation\u00adal, non\u00adpar\u00adti\u00adsan, non-prof\u00adit orga\u00adni\u00adza\u00adtion that fights for racial jus\u00adtice and advo\u00adcates for the civ\u00adil rights of all South Asians in the Unit\u00aded States. Our ulti\u00admate vision is dig\u00adni\u00adty and full inclu\u00adsion for all.
\nRed Canary Song<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>(added 3\/24):\u00a0\u00a0Centers base-building with migrant workers through a labor rights framework and mutual aid.
\nAct to Change<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>(added 3\/24): working to end bullying among Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) youth. It is the only national group with this primary focus, with an interdisciplinary approach that spans education, public health, and civil rights.<\/p>\n
