In December, both students and faculty represented at the largest gathering of pharmacy professionals in the world, Dr. Amy Kang was named an ACCP Junior Investigator, and CUSP researchers authored articles on diverse topics ranging from heart disease, epigenetic disorders, and experiments testing multidrug-resistant pathogens.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Grants<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice Dr. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/our-faculty\/amy-kang\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Amy Kang<\/a> received an American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.accp.com\/report\/index.aspx?iss=1222&amp;art=1&amp;utm_source=accp&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=ACCP&amp;_zs=VnxPa&amp;_zl=NApM3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Junior Investigator<\/a> grant, an honor that is bestowed to clinical pharmacy\u2019s most promising early-career contributors to the future of clinical research.\u00a0 Her award totals $50,000 to perform an observational study titled \u201cAssessment of Antibiotic Transition Errors from Hospitals to Skilled Nursing Facilities.\u201d Dr. Amy Kang will serve as a PI for this investigation.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Publications<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">Dr. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/our-faculty\/sherry-yun-wang\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sherry Wang<\/a> co-authored a <a href=\"https:\/\/link.springer.com\/referenceworkentry\/10.1007\/978-3-030-50247-8_81-1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">book entry<\/a> observing how the future of medical professional interprofessional collaborations and communications, namely through telehealth related to cerebrovascular disease management, can help solve an increasing global problem of healthcare worker shortages experienced in most countries.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">Dr. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/our-faculty\/innokentiy-maslennikov\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Innokentiy &#8220;Inno&#8221; Maslennikov<\/a>, Dr. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/our-faculty\/keykavous-parang\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Keykavous Parang<\/a>, and Dr. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/sandeep-lohan-7b2588ab\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sandeep Lohan<\/a> planned, designed, and conducted the <a href=\"http:\/\/10.1021\/acs.jmedchem.2c01708.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">experiments<\/a> that identified 12-mer antimicrobial peptides that are more sympathetic to multi-drug resistant strains of pathogens.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">Dr. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/our-faculty\/ajay-sharma\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ajay Sharma<\/a> and Dr. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/judy-weng-pharmd-rph-451492109\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Judy Weng<\/a> authored pages 311-325 featured in the new text, <em>Epigenetics in Organ Specific Disorders, <\/em>regarding epigenetic disorders in the anterior segment of the eyes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Presentations<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400\">\n<li><strong>Oral (e.g., Platform Presentations, Symposiums, Plenaries, Keynotes)<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"name\">Dr. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/our-faculty\/neeloufar-fakourfar\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Neeloufar Fakourfar<\/a> spoke at UC San Diego&#8217;s Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences as an alumna of their program, where she discussed balancing life as a PharmD candidate as part of the school&#8217;s <\/span>P4 Wellness Event series.<\/li>\n<li>Dr. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/our-faculty\/jerika-lam\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jerika Lam<\/a> co-presented \u201cPrEParing for a New Kind of HIV Prevention\u201d as an expert faculty at the ASHP Midyear Conference, where she discussed new ideas and findings related to Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400\">\n<li><strong>Posters<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Dr. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/our-faculty\/viet-huong-nguyen\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Viet-Huong Nguyen<\/a> and PharmD candidate Eileen Hsiao presented their poster &#8220;Quality of Transitions of Care Communication for Patients with Non-Cardioembolic Stroke Transferred to Long-Term Acute Care&#8221;, an abstract shown at the ASHP Midyear Meeting.<\/li>\n<li>Dr. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/our-faculty\/moom-roosan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Moom Roosan<\/a>, and PharmD candidates <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/megan-shieh\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Megan Shieh<\/a>\u00a0and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/tiffany-nguyen-602b01174\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tiffany Nguyen<\/a> presented their poster &#8220;Pharmacogenomics interactions of
