An equal partnership between Chapman, SCAN Health Plan, and Providence Medical Foundation, the award was received by Dr. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/our-faculty\/jelena-lewis\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jelena Lewis<\/a> and accompanied by other Chapman representatives, including Dean Dr. Ren Ostrom, Associate Deans Dr. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/our-faculty\/jeff-goad\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jeff Goad<\/a> and Dr. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/our-faculty\/emmanuelle-schwartzman\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Emmanuelle Schwartzman<\/a>. Also represented was Dr. Jonathan &#8220;JJ&#8221; Way, the Residency Site Coordinator for SCAN, who graduated from Chapman with his PharmD in 2020.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Grants<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gilead.com\/science-and-medicine\/research\/investigator-sponsored-research\/nova-rfp-2022-program\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Gilead\u2019s NOVA RFP<\/a> has awarded Dr. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/our-faculty\/jerika-lam\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jerika Lam<\/a> $82,871 to <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/pharmacy\/2023\/01\/23\/dr-jerika-lam-receives-grant-to-continue-search-for-hiv-prevention-outcomes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">fund a clinical trial study on HIV prevention<\/a> to produce outcomes that will help put an end to the HIV epidemic- A virus that has taken an estimated 40M lives globally. The one-year clinical trial study is titled \u201cExploring barriers and facilitators to pharmacy-based HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis.\u201d She will serve as the PI for this study.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Presentations<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Oral (e.g., Platform Presentations, Symposiums, Plenaries, Keynotes)<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>Dr. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/our-faculty\/sherry-yun-wang\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sherry Wang<\/a>, an assistant professor, and Dr. Jianwei Zheng, a research associate for Chapman Pharmacy, presented &#8220;Geographic Disparities in Prevalence of Adolescents and Young Adult (AYA) Cancer Patients: A National Study of 54,634 Patients in 2006-2021&#8221; on January 18, 2023, in Los Angeles, CA. The presentation took place at the National <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cancer.gov\/news-events\/events\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NCI<\/a> Comprehensive Cancer Center Meeting &#8220;Solving Critical Problems in Cancer Control using Spatial Science.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Dr. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/our-faculty\/laressa-bethishou\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Laressa Bethishou<\/a> spoke at a faculty panel for<strong>\u00a0&#8220;<\/strong>COVID Keepers: Takeaways for Engaged Teaching&#8221; at the <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/academics\/2022\/11\/04\/january-conference-on-teaching\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">JanCon2023<\/a> Teaching Conference in Orange, CA on January 12, 2023.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Publications<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Dean Dr. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/our-faculty\/rennolds-ostrom\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ren Ostrom,<\/a> among others, worked on an editorial &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.frontiersin.org\/research-topics\/29435\/adenylyl-cyclase-isoforms-as-potential-drug-targets#overview\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Adenylyl Cyclase Isoforms as Potential Drug Targets. Frontiers in Pharmacology<\/a>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Dr. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/our-faculty\/rachita-sumbria\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Rachita Sumbria<\/a> and research specialist Dr. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/rudytchang\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Rudy Chang<\/a> assisted in <a href=\"https:\/\/link.springer.com\/book\/10.1007\/978-1-0716-2926-0#about-this-book\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Neural Repair: Methods and Protocols. Methods in Molecular Biology, First Edition<\/a>, authoring sections focusing on quantitative evaluation of cerebral microhemorrhages in the mouse brain and neural repairs.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Dr. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/our-faculty\/sherry-yun-wang\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sherry Wang<\/a> authored an <a href=\"https:\/\/bmcpublichealth.biomedcentral.com\/articles\/10.1186\/s12889-022-14947-3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">article<\/a> on the effectiveness of pay-it-forward in addressing HPV vaccine delay and increasing uptake among 15\u201318-year-old adolescent girls compared to user-paid vaccination, among other experts in the field.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Dr. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/our-faculty\/sherry-yun-wang\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sherry Wang<\/a> and research associate Dr. Jianwei Zheng assisted in authoring &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/science\/article\/pii\/S0022395623000390?via%3Dihub\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Predicting suicidal and self-injurious events in a correctional setting using AI algorithms on unstructured medical notes and structured data<\/a>&#8221; in the Journal of Psychiatric Research.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Drs. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/our-faculty\/keykavous-parang\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Keykavous Parang<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/our-faculty\/hamidreza-montazeri-aliabadi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Hamid Montazeri Aliabadi<\/a>, <a
