Dr. Sumbria recognition is based on her publication, &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/jneuroinflammation.biomedcentral.com\/articles\/10.1186\/s12974-021-02332-7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Biologic TNF-\u03b1 inhibitors reduce microgliosis, neuronal loss, and tau phosphorylation in a transgenic mouse model of tauopathy.<\/a>&#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/pharmacy\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/65\/2024\/04\/2.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1639\"><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-1639 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/pharmacy\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/65\/2024\/04\/2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"164\" height=\"239\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Dr. Sumbria&#8217;s groundbreaking research, conducted in collaboration with a team of dedicated students and post-doctoral fellows, explores the critical realms of neuroinflammation and therapeutic interventions for neurodegenerative diseases, particularly Alzheimer&#8217;s. In investigating the blood-brain barrier penetration and efficacy of a novel biologic in an animal model of Alzheimer\u2019s disease, Dr. Sumbria&#8217;s work promises to advance our understanding of these complex conditions and begin to unlock treatment solutions and strategies.<\/p>\n<p>Her paper, which was published in the Journal of Neuroinflammation, shows its impact and significance within future research for neurodegenerative diseases.
