The California Pharmacists Association<\/a> (CPhA) has inducted Dr. Jeff Goad<\/a> into the California Pharmacy Hall of Fame, their highest honor for career achievement.<\/p>\n

With over 25 years dedicated to travel health, immunization services, and infectious disease prevention, Goad has educated thousands\u00a0of students and pharmacists\u00a0in travel medicine and immunization\u00a0services.<\/span> He is an active clinician in college travel health, has published over 90 articles and book chapters, and has presented at more than 350 conferences and seminars. He has served for 20 years on the APhA Pharmacy-Based Immunization\u00a0 <\/span>Delivery Program advisory board, developed and chairs the APhA Travel Medicine Advanced Competency Training Course, and is President of the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases. Goad is also the past President of the California Pharmacists Association and California Immunization Coalition. He is known for his leadership in shaping statewide vaccine policies during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n

“It\u2019s an honor to be inducted into the California Pharmacy Hall of Fame,\u201d Goad says. \u201cMy passion always has been to advance pharmacy\u2019s role in immunization and travel medicine, making sure that pharmacists have a seat at the table in shaping public health. This recognition isn\u2019t about me, but the collective progress pharmacists have made in healthcare.\u201d<\/p>\n

Goad is the second faculty member to receive this honor in our young history, following Dr. Kathy Besinque, who was inducted in 2020.<\/p>\n

This year, Mike Pavlovich, PharmD, was also named to the CPhA Hall of Fame. Pavlovich is a longtime member of CUSP\u2019s Dean\u2019s Professional Advisory Board<\/a> and previously served as a Trustee for APhA.<\/p>\n

In addition, our student chapter of CPhA was named a Chapter of Excellence. This is the third year in a row our students have been honored by CPhA for promoting public health through the practice of pharmacy.<\/p>\n
