Facilitated by Vice President of Campus Planning and Design Collette Creppell, the forum featured panelists including President Daniele C. Struppa, City of Orange Mayor Mark Murphy, Vice President for Research Tom Piechota, Vice President of Community Relations Jack Raubolt, Dean Janeen Hill of Crean College of Health and Behavioral Sciences, Dean Ron Jordan of the School of Pharmacy, and Dean Andrew Lyon of Fowler School of Engineering.<\/p>\n<p>Dean Jordan emphasized the significant role of community pharmacies in keeping people safe during this global crisis. He shared that community pharmacies have developed 400,000 trained immunizers for the last two decades throughout all 50 states. As an essential health care response system, community pharmacies are well positioned for infection testing and vaccine delivery as well as other critical patient care services on a vast scale.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur graduates and community pharmacy structures in California are ready to help and prepare with the tools we need,\u201d said Dean Jordan.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, several CUSP faculty are working in community pharmacies, hospitals, health systems, and ambulatory clinics, where our students are doing residencies, internships, and experiential education rotations.
