Please join us in welcoming Tuccoa Polk to Crean College of Health and Behavioral Sciences as our new Sponsored Project Analyst.  Tuccoa Polk received her BA in Child Development from CSU, Stanislaus, and her Master of Public Administration from Golden Gate University. She has over 15 years of experience in grant management and research administration in both the non-profit sector and higher education.  She is skilled in both pre-and post-award administration; most recently providing cradle to grave support for the College of Social Sciences, Humanities, and Arts at UC Merced where she crafted departmental post-award management policies to ensure award compliance and effort reporting for grant closeouts.  She has also provided grant writing training and support for junior faculty and those new to applying for research funding.  As Senior Research Analyst for the College of Education at the University of North Texas, she created and implemented the “Research Development Fridays” monthly workshops for faculty to learn how to write effective proposals, learn about the requirements of federal funders, and how to manage their grant funding upon award.  She is passionate about research administration and helping faculty “dream bigger” by supporting their efforts to acquire grant funding to conduct research.  She is currently working towards her EdD in Organizational Leadership- Higher Education Administration at Abilene Christian University with an anticipated completion date of April 2023. Tuccoa is excited to join the Chapman family.

As Crean College’s Sponsored Project Analyst, Tuccoa will work with principal investigators, faculty and staff to coordinate pre- and post-award activities for grants and/or contracts. Tuccoa can be contacted at tpolk@chapman.edu.
