Consider what Chapman University food scientist Fred Caporaso, Ph.D., professor, Schmid College of Science and Technology, has to say on the subject. Dr. Caporaso is the featured expert in Chapman\u2019s debut appearance on The Academic Minute, a program of WAMC Northeast Public Radio.<\/p>\n<p>In a podcast segment that airs Friday, Dec. 23, Dr. Caporaso explains how foods\u2019 savory or sweet seasonings change the sensory experience of enjoying wine.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s not what\u2019s on the plate it\u2019s what\u2019s on the food that\u2019s on the plate,\u201d the professor says.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/wamc.org\/programs\/academic-minute\" target=\"_blank\">The Academic Minute<\/a> features professors from top institutions around the world, delving into topics from the serious to the lighthearted, keeping listeners abreast of interesting news from the world of research. The program airs each weekday on WAMC at 7:37 a.m. EST (4:37 PST), and 3:56 p.m. EST (12:56 PST), or may be heard <a href=\"http:\/\/www.publicbroadcasting.net\/wamc\/.jukebox?action=viewPodcast&amp;podcastId=18671\" target=\"_blank\">online<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Caporaso has 35 years of experience as a sensory scientist. He has published in top peer-reviewed journals, completed hundreds of sensory testing contracts for local and national food companies and been an expert witness in sensory testing litigation. He has been profiled in both the Wall Street Journal and The Chronicle of Higher Education and has appeared as an expert on the hit TV show <a href=\"http:\/\/dsc.discovery.com\/tv\/mythbusters\/\" target=\"_blank\">Myth Busters<\/a>.
