Chapman University Schmid College of Science and Technology\u00a0and School of Earth and Environmental Sciences<\/a>\u00a0welcomes you to its\u00a03rd Annual World Water Day event on Friday, April 4, 2014, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Irvine Lecture Hall, Hashinger Science Center room 150<\/strong>.<\/em><\/p>\n

Governor Jerry Brown has declared California\u2019s current drought to be the worst in the\u00a0state\u2019s modern history. About 90% of our water is imported from the Colorado River and\u00a0the Sacramento Delta in Northern California. Over 50% of residential water use in Southern\u00a0California is on landscaping. Come join conservationists and plant scientists at Chapman\u00a0University to learn how you can make a difference by reducing water use with a drought-tolerant\u00a0garden of California-native and California-friendly plants.<\/p>\n
