{"id":3526,"date":"2014-03-31T12:00:25","date_gmt":"2014-03-31T19:00:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogschapman.wpenginepowered.com\/scst\/2014\/03\/31\/the-places-theyll-go\/"},"modified":"2014-03-31T12:00:25","modified_gmt":"2014-03-31T19:00:25","slug":"the-places-theyll-go","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/scst\/2014\/03\/31\/the-places-theyll-go\/","title":{"rendered":"Oh,The Places They&#039;ll Go: Class of 2014"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>From CalTech to Stony Brook \u2013 our graduates are going places!<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"line-height: 1.5em\">Lena Buckendorf<\/strong><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em\"> is heading to her first-choice dental school, the <\/span><a style=\"line-height: 1.5em\" title=\"UOP\" href=\"http:\/\/www.dental.pacific.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\">Dugoni School of Dentistry at the\u00a0University of the Pacific<\/a><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em\">. \u00a0First, though, she&#8217;ll travel with <\/span><a style=\"line-height: 1.5em\" href=\"http:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/our-faculty\/christopher-kim\" target=\"_blank\">Dr. Christopher Kim<\/a><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em\"> and several other students from his Kim Environmental Geochemistry (<\/span><a style=\"line-height: 1.5em\" href=\"http:\/\/www1.chapman.edu\/envgeo\/Home.html\" target=\"_blank\">KEG<\/a><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em\">) Lab to the international <\/span><a style=\"line-height: 1.5em\" href=\"http:\/\/goldschmidt.info\/2014\/index\" target=\"_blank\">Goldschmidt Geochemistry Conference in Sacramento, CA<\/a><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em\">\u00a0in June 2014.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><strong>Ryan Burns<\/strong><\/strong>\u00a0plans to complete his\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/scst\/computational-sciences\/academic-programs\/ms-computational-sciences.aspx\">Master of Science in Computational Science<\/a>\u00a0at Chapman, following the computational biology track.<\/p>\n<p><strong><strong><strong>Roeder Fletcher<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong>\u00a0will be running his own marketing analytics firm after graduation, as well as working for Vizubi, a business intelligence reporting company headquartered in Vicenza, Italy.<\/p>\n<p><strong><strong><strong>Madeleine Haslam<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/strong>has secured\u00a0a summer internship with an architecture firm in Salt Lake City. Then she is attending Columbia University for a one-year non-degree program studying architecture in New York and Paris, during which time she intends to apply to an architecture master&#8217;s program.<\/p>\n<p><strong><strong>Tucker Holmes<\/strong><\/strong>\u00a0is applying to Chapman&#8217;s\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/scst\/computational-sciences\/academic-programs\/ms-computational-sciences.aspx\">Master of Science in Computational and Data Sciences<\/a>, with plans to focus on\u00a0Biology and Bioinformatics. He is also\u00a0doing a ten week summer internship at <a title=\"JPL\" href=\"http:\/\/www.jpl.nasa.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\">JPL<\/a>, where he&#8217;ll work on software engineering for an earth science remote sensing project.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kacey Krotz<\/strong>\u00a0has been accepted and will attend <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fuller.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\">Fuller Theological Seminary<\/a> for her Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology<\/p>\n<p><strong><strong>Nathan Lawless<\/strong><\/strong>\u00a0was accepted into the PhD program in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.math.caltech.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\">Mathematics at CalTech<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kyle Lee<\/strong> was accepted to <a href=\"http:\/\/sb.cc.stonybrook.edu\/news\/general\/20140319_US_NewsWorldReport.php\" target=\"_blank\">Stony Brook<\/a>, where he will complete a PhD in theoretical physics, in the area of mathematical physics and string theory.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kelly Mitchell<\/strong> was accepted to the <a href=\"http:\/\/msw.usc.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\">USC Masters of Social Work<\/a> program.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>From CalTech to Stony Brook \u2013 our graduates are going places!
