After an incredibly successful 2015-2016 season for Schmid College’s\u00a0Science on Tap series, we’re pleased to finally announce the upcoming slate\u00a0for the 2016-2017 season! Science on Tap is an\u00a0on-going series of talks\u00a0that\u00a0feature Chapman University faculty and Southern California experts exploring the intersection of science and culture. It\u00a0has evolved to be a meeting place where students, faculty, and Orange locals can congregate to have a beer or a cup of coffee\u00a0and discuss some of the most exciting and important questions in the world of science and technology today.<\/p>\n

\"_mg_4880\"<\/a>The 2016-2017 slate will consist of\u00a0six different events, each of which will\u00a0feature\u00a0speakers focusing\u00a0on technology as it relates to our local community and our daily lives. Dr. Bruce Tromberg, Science on Tap’s first speaker of the season, will be discussing wearable technology. His discussion on October 4th, 2016, is titled\u00a0“I\u2019m Not Just Wearing This for My Health: Wearable Tech”<\/a>, and it\u00a0will\u00a0provide interesting insight into the future of of technology as it applies to our accessibility and dependence as it relates to fashion. Other topics this season will include mapping tsunami risk, quantum computers as they relate to credit cards, California ecosystems, and food fraud.<\/p>\n

In case you missed any conversations from last season, be sure to check out the Science on Tap Podcast<\/a>, where five of our six discussions from last year have been packaged into a podcast format. You can find the podcast on both iTunes<\/a> and Google Play<\/a>, and be sure to leave a review and subscribe for more updates throughout the season!<\/p>\n

Science on Tap begins at 6:00 pm at Provisions Market, located at 143 North Glassel St. Orange, CA 92866. The event is open to the public, so be\u00a0sure to get there early for better seats.
