The research appears in the journal <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lifescied.org\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">CBE\u2013Life Sciences Education<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> and was <\/span><b>featured in a teaching newsletter from the <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.chronicle.com\/newsletter\/teaching\/2023-10-26\"><b>Chronicle of Higher Education<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. Hsu\u2019s study provides fundamental insights into how to write test questions for students to best comprehend the nature of the question and return answers that <\/span><b>best reflect what they know<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Anna Colella, an alumna of the master\u2019s program in food science, has published new research on how\u00a0 \u201c<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/onlinelibrary.wiley.com\/doi\/10.1002\/fsn3.3749\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Homogenization and thermal processing reduce the concentration of extracellular vesicles in bovine milk<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.\u201d The research appears in the journal <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/onlinelibrary.wiley.com\/journal\/20487177?utm_source=google&amp;utm_medium=paidsearch&amp;utm_campaign=R3MR425&amp;utm_content=FoodScience&amp;gclid=Cj0KCQiAo7KqBhDhARIsAKhZ4uiQYbw2lJKFR-8bo-_Ogl3zhpkCkyOSwSMlhTsax5dJ4XkcdRDE8jcaAtq9EALw_wcB\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Food Science and Nutrition<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> in collaboration with Anu Prakash and John Miklavcic, professors in the Food Science program. Their research describes efforts to ensure food processing methods for dairy products that <\/span><b>preserve their full nutritional value<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. Colella now works as a research and development manager at See\u2019s Candies.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Indrajit Sen, a postdoctoral research and teaching fellow in the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/about\/our-home\/keck-center\/gci\/index.aspx\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Grand Challenges Initiative<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, has posted new physics research on \u201c<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/arxiv.org\/abs\/2310.15157\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A realist interpretation of unitarity in quantum gravity<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201d to the preprint server Arxiv in collaboration with Stephon Alexander (Brown University) and Associate Professor of Physics Justin Dressel. The study<\/span><b> addresses key open questions in quantum gravity<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> by applying an <\/span><b>unorthodox approach <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">drawn from the field of quantum foundations to study.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Joshua Fisher, an associate professor of environmental science and policy, co-authored a new report on \u201c<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fao.org\/documents\/card\/en\/c\/cc8150en\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Remote sensing determining of evapotranspiration<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201d on behalf of the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations. The report is <\/span><b>the most comprehensive synthesis to date<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> of the use of satellite methods to quantify the amount of water evaporating from the Earth\u2019s land surfaces.
