Science Student Association to host College Bowl Competition"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Chapman University\u2019s Food Science Student Association welcomes the schools of the Mountain West region for the <a title=\"2013 IFTSA Mountain West Area Meeting and College Bowl Competition\" href=\"http:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/SCST\/news-and-events\/college-bowl.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">28<sup>th<\/sup> Annual Area Meeting and College Bowl Competition<\/a>.<\/h3>\n<p>The College Bowl Competition will take place March 8 &amp; 9, 2013 at Chapman University.\u00a0 In addition to the competition, the Annual Area Meeting will allow students to network with each other and recap on their past school year.\u00a0 Students from various universities will be tested on a medley of food science topics including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Food Chemistry, Ingredients, Flavors and Analysis<\/li>\n<li>Food Microbiology, Safety, and Law<\/li>\n<li>Sensory Evaluation and Statistics<\/li>\n<li>Culinology and Molecular Gastronomy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The winning team will go on to compete in the national competition at the IFT Annual Meeting and Expo in Chicago in June 2013.\u00a0 Sponsors for this year\u2019s competition include SCIFTS, McDonalds Corp., Firmenich, Huxtables Kitchen, QTrade Teas &amp; Herbs, and Classic Foods
