Community Partner Recognition by the City of Orange<\/strong><\/p>\n

On March 12th<\/sup>, Chapman University was honored by the City Council for our long-standing sponsorship of city events. Chapman is proud to be an Orange Tree Partner of the City\u2019s community service department. Through our sponsorship, the University supports events like the 3rd<\/sup> of July, Treats in the Streets, and the Holiday Chorale and Tree Lighting.<\/p>\n

Chapman Student Attends State of the Union as Guest of Local Congressman<\/strong><\/p>\n

Chapman student Valeria Delgado was invited to be a guest of Congressman Lou Correa at the State of the Union Address last week in Washington DC. This is the first time the Congressman has asked a Chapman student to attend with him and we\u2019re thrilled that Valeria was able to have this experience.<\/p>\n

Chapman Student Honored as Volunteer of the Month at Friendly Center<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kaitlin Gannaway, a sophomore studying education, has been passionately contributing her skills as a work-study tutor to Friendly Center\u2019s after-school tutoring program for two years. She was recently recognized for her contributions in this great blog post.<\/a> Friendly Center is one of Chapman University\u2019s community partners and I\u2019m honored to serve on their board of directors.<\/p>\n

Fun fact: Friendly Center CEO, Dr. Kenia Cueto, is an alumna of Attallah College!<\/p>\n

The Orange May Parade Returns on Saturday, May 4th<\/sup><\/u><\/p>\n

Chapman is proud to sponsor the Orange Chamber of Commerce\u2019s May Parade, taking place this year on May the 4th<\/sup>! The theme, \u201cCome to the Orange Side,\u201d is sure to be a fun one. If you\u2019d like to participate in our parade entry, please feel free to reach out to me.<\/p>\n

3rd<\/sup> of July Celebration on Wednesday, July 3rd<\/sup><\/u><\/p>\n

The City of Orange\u2019s signature event, the 3rd<\/sup> of July, will take place from 4pm to 9pm at Grijalva Park. Community members can enjoy food and entertainment in the afternoon and end the evening with a spectacular fireworks display. If you plan on attending, please make sure to find our booth and say hello. It\u2019s always lovely to see a friendly face!<\/p>\n
