\nCurrent BFA Art senior, 
\nKellan Shanahan,<\/strong>
\n was recently awarded the Paul Frizler Memorial Scholarship for the 2012-2013 academic year. The scholarship recognizes a creative scholar who has excelled in one (or more) of the disciplines of art, communication studies, dance, english, or theatre. Kellan was given the award based on his success in both academic and creative arenas, and for his interdisciplinary approach to art and anthropology. His practice as a sculptor addresses issues of cultural identity and mythologies latent in Western figurative sculpture. Kellan’s senior exhibition of this work will be held next Spring.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
